Aquatic Facility Use FAQS

How old do my children have to be to go in the pool on their own?

Our Centres follow the Watch Around Water program in which children under 5 years of age must have a Parent or Guardian in the water within arm's length at all times. Children under 10 years must be actively supervised at all times. While using the Wave pool children under 10 years of age must be within arm's reach of a parent or guardian while the waves are in operation.  Kingston Active recommends that children aged 10 years and over remain actively supervised by a parent or guardian and reserves the right to remove any child from the water if their safety is of concern.

Can my child and I swim together after my child's swimming lesson?

Yes, on the day of the lesson. If you are on the Learn to Swim Direct Debit Membership, the enrolled child can swim at any time of day, at either Don Tatnell or Waves. You will need to pay for the accompanying adult.

Do you have family changing rooms?

Yes, family change cubicles are are located on pool deck at both Centres.  Children aged 6 years and under may accompany a Parent or Guardian into the change rooms regardless of gender.

Do you have accessible pools?

Yes, we have a hoist to get into the 25m pool, at both Don Tatnell and at Waves.

How do I know if there are lanes available to do laps in?

You can either see our Lap Lane availability part of the website for the most up-to-date lane allocations and bookings, or call customer service on 9587 1016 for lane bookings for the day.

What membership and visit pass options are available at your centre?
